The day of April 4, 2023 marked the completion of 15 years of activity in the service of the community of Rotary Club Focșani “Varana”, a period full of actions and projects carried out for the community of Vrancea, which the members of the Club carried out with dedication and friendship.
The ceremony, which took place at the Municipal Theater “Mr. Gh. Pastia”, was opened by the words of the Founding President of the Rotary Club of Focșani, Mr. Doru Simiz, introduction followed by the development of the main projects carried out by the Club in these 15 years of activity, presentation supported by the acting President 2022-2023 Rotary Club Focșani “Varana” – Mr. Marius Ulmeteanu.
Along with the Rotarians from Vrânce, several guests of honor were present at the event, who celebrated this important moment in the life of the Club: The Governor of Rotary District 2241 – Mr. Florin Mărginean, President of the CJ Vrancea – Mr. Cătălin Toma, Mayor of Focșani – Mr. Cristi Valentin Misăilă, Prefect of the Jud. Vrancea – Mr. Nicușor Halici and the General School Inspector – Mrs. Gabriela Marchitan. Also, at the anniversary hour, Dr. Vasile Oșean, honorary member of the Focșani “Varana” Rotary Club, was with us.
To emphasize the importance of the anniversary, 10 outstanding students from Vranca, with meritorious school results, took the stage and were awarded by the Varana Rotary Club. Also, for special merits in the activity of Interact Varana Focșani and Rotaract Vrancea, Sergiu Mocanu (first president of Interact Varana Focșani), Klara Anton (former president of Interact Varana Focșani), Rebeca Gongu (current president of Interact Varana Focșani) and Iulian Munteanu (president of Rotaract Vrancea).
The wonderful evening was ended in the most beautiful, artistic way, on the fine and masterful accords of the duet Diana Jipa and Ștefan Doniga.
On this anniversary occasion, Rotary Club Focșani “Varana” thanks all those who have been with us and have been involved in the Rotary projects carried out for the local community in Vrancea, the achievements of the first 15 years of existence being reasons for confidence and courage for new challenges and volunteering dedicated to helping our fellow man.
