The fourth edition of the charity ball organized by VARANA Rotary Club Focsani at Hotel Fashion Center was called “Mugurii Romaniei” and its noble purpose was to raise funds for renovation, modernization and equipping a delivery room in the County Emergency Hospital “St. Pantelimon” in Focsani. The event was attended by members of the VARANA Rotary Club and their guests, businessmen and representatives of local and county institutions, and also guests from other Rotary Clubs in the country, but also from other countries, as Greece. The festive evening began with the presentation of the projects undertaken by the club in the past year and the announcement for the new major project, meaning the renovation and modernization of the delivery room in the County Hospital, action based on one of the main objective of Rotary International that is supporting the mother and the child. VARANA Rotary Club president, Doctor Laurentiu Bodolan, said that through this initiative is intended to provide friendly conditions for mothers who give birth at County Hospital. “Community is not an abstract entity but a living organism made up of its members. Assistance granted to each of us reflects on the family to which we belong”, said the clubs president.
The start in raising funds was given at an auction that were available clothing items created especially for the event by leading Romanian artists, great paintings donated by artists Liviu Nedelecu and Elena Birhala and tapestry worked by “Clubul Gargaritelor”.
The ambitious project of VARANA Rotary Club aims to gather the necessary funds by the end of next year from charity events and sponsorships. Along with this will continue the financial support for exceptional children, in the great Rotarian spirit.
