APPLE FROM THE GARDEN – comprehensive action of donation realized by ROTARY VARANA FOCȘANI WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE VOLUNTEERS FROM THE PROGRAM “VOLUNTEERS OF THE FUTURE”
In September, Rotary Varana Club Focșani was the main actor of a great donation action going on essential principle ” The gift that keeps on giving”. Virtually, all day, Rotary volunteers have donated boxes full of fresh apples to the needy people, institutionalized from several centers related to GENERAL DEPARTMENT FOR SOCIAL SECURITY AND CHILD PROTECTION VRANCEA Panciu towns, from Odobeşti, Focșani, Mărăşeşti Jariștea , Dumbrăveni, Golești.
Rotary Club Focsani received as a donation from Fruit Growing Station of Apples from Itești – Bacău an impressive amount of 18 tons of apples. This year there was an overproduction and the farm from Itesti, as part of an European program of social support, has started an impressive action of donation of apples.
And not anyone, but to the needy people, for which an apple is an oasis of light, sweetness and joy. This way, The Rotary clubs of Bacau, Piatra Neamt and Focsani were requested to assist in the distribution of apples in the counties of origin.
A real challenge. The Club from Focșani went ahead with the volunteers and shared, in a first stage, over 11 tons of apples to the children and people who have found in the apple something more than we can not see. They discovered that someone is thinking of them!

“Great joy we realized! I didn’t ever think that you could do so much better with some apples. I read fulfillment in the eyes of those who did not see apples as simply apples, but more like evidence that someone has thought of them. Volunteers have been with us. Another evidence that demonstrates that being united, we can help, we can do through small gestures, great things! “
Later in the second day of the marathon campaign were donated apples to the Military Hospital Focșani, County Hospital Focșani, Retirement Home Focșani, but also to the children with social problems within the Pedagogic Highschool Focșani.
Also, Popeşti Hall received over 600 kg of apples that you will share to the disadvantaged families and children, victims of domestic violence, which are part of a program supervised by UNICEF.
However, Rotary Varana Club Focșani came up with another project in the campaign. Because we are talking about a significant amount of apples, the club decided to donate fruits to those families who have low income and single family breadwinner, and to women with limited material possibilities, who are working in different groups from Focșani and Panciu.
