Rotary VARANA Focsani Club continued in 2016 the “Hearts Promenade” programme, a project which aims encouraging our community population to make sport and movement, as a prevention to cardiovascular diseases.
The event organized by the Rotary VARANA Club with Romanian Heart Foundation, in partnership with Focsani City Hall, marked the World Heart Day on the 29th of September, it was held as a march in a 1,7 km length through the city’s center attended by hundreds of people from Focsani of all ages, willing to make movement for a better health.
An international program implemented already in over 10 European countries, “Hearts Promenade” was organized by Rotary VARANA Club for the third time in Focsani, is an event that encourages the people of all ages to make movement and sport for a healthy heart and an active life.
“We all know that the health is, maybe, the most important thing in our life but, unfortunately, many of us usually think about it only when we start to have signs that our health is no longer perfect. The Heart Promenade is an awareness project and assuming the importance of the movement for a healthy living and aims encouraging people with all ages to have a walk and make sport. Regardless of age, all of us we benefited from a daily walk, a way to improve the quality of life.” stated professor Carmen Ion, the Rotary VARANA Focsani Club President for the 2016-2017 Rotarian year.
The big number of participants who put their heart at work by moving at the “Hearts Promenade” 2016th edition confirmed the fact the people from Focsani are attentive and concerned about health. And actions and events organized by the Rotary VARANA Focsani Club supporting sport, physical activity and health are appreciated and welcome.
