Mathematics has become accessible to blind students!

And this is due to another important project realized by the Rotary Club VARANA Focșani which, on the occasion of the “PUNE SOARE IN MARRIIOARE!” Charity ball of March 2017, proposed to translate and print in the Braille system the mathematical textbooks for classes 0-V for blind students.

On Monday, July 3 at 5:30 pm, the presentation of the first accessible digital mathematics textbook, in audio and Braille format, took place for the blind students. On the same occasion, the V-class textbook was made available in audio and daisy-text format using the new language for transcribing mathematical formulas for the blind. Practical demonstrations have shown that a blind person can handle these textbooks as well as a sighted student.

The rotary year 2016-2017 was the year of education, and the Rotary Club VARANA Focșani was dedicated to this special project which will make accessible the first 4 textbooks used in the school by the blind students.
