This year too, the Rotary VARANA Club Focsani organized “Promenade of Hearts”, which marked World Heart Day on September 29. Thus, on Saturday October 3, 2015, along with Romanian Heart Foundation, in partnership with the City Hall of Focsani, Local Council of Focsani, Rotary VARANA Club launched urging “Come on to the health triathlon!” to all members of our community.
Hundreds of Focsani of all ages responded present and participated to the sport contest which included sports competitions cycling, athletics and marching. Early in the contest were cyclists, followed participants in the trail of athletics and finally, on the same trail of 3 km, all participants have formed a group of march, which started in Union Square, passed through Republic Street, the street Cuza Voda, Braila avenue, then crossing Schuman park and Central park. At the end, all those present received certificates of participation and the feeling to be healthy through sports.
“Promenade of Hearts”, organized by Rotary VARANA Focsani for the second time in Focsani, is an event that encourages people of all ages to take exercise and sport for a healthy heart and an active life. The event was part of the week devoted to health actions organized both locally, nationally and internationally.
The event was organized by the Rotary VARANA Club together with Interact Focsani and Rotaract Focsani organizations, near the Directorate for Sport and Youth Vrancea, School Inspectorate Vrancea, County Council of Students from Vrancea and other ONGs in the county.
The large number of participants who have put their heart to work through sport to “Promenade of Hearts” 2015 edition confirmed that the inhabitansts of Focsani are careful and concerned about health and the actions and events organized by the Rotary VARANA Club Focsani which supports sport and health are appreciated and welcome.
