Rotary Clubs International Convention was held this year in Montreal, between 21 and 23 June. VARANA Rotary Club Focsani was represented by Rodica Dinut, as president of the club, Rodica Muresan and Luminita Teodoreanu, as members. At this impressive convention have participated over 18.000 members of Rotary Clubs from 154 countries. The main purpose of this meeting was to exchange ideas and experience in order to realize Rotary objectives, those to support the community by concrete and effective actions.
Throughout meetings and conferences an impressive list of speakers have addressed general or new topics for Rotary Clubs around the world, and from this list stood out Greg Mortenson, co-founder of Central Asia Institute, Bob Mazzuca, chief executive of the Boy Scouts of America and country music singer and philanthropist Dolly Parton.
Representatives of VARANA Rotary Club Focsani who participated at this Convention said that the entire event was interesting and challenging. Speakers brought in current the numerous problems with which people are struggling all over the world and gave new directions to philanthropic and social objectives which Rotary Club members can do in the use of community.
